Job: Lab Tech
I am frustrated with some of the laziness at work. It’s not horrible, since the people who loaf around will actually do something if you ask them to. But it is so frustrating to constantly be worried about getting things done on time and whether or not product is going to fail when you see people openly sitting around texting and surfing the net on their cell phones. Another real downer is that the boss who we really like has just left for another location in the same company. We really enjoyed working with her. Anyway, that’s it !
Job: Charity worker
I work for a charity and I don’t understand why we are constantly encouraged/forced to join in on fundraising activities in the office. I’m treated like an outcast when I object, which is ironic considering the cause we are supposed to be working for. I just don’t understand what the point is of me handing money back to my employer – are they paying me or am I paying them? I don’t want to take part in ‘forced fun’. Believe it or not, I have actual work to do. I spend more than enough of my time surrounded by people too worthy for their own good who think that tweeting anything with a hashtag is making the world a better place. I certainly don’t want to spend an hour crammed into a tiny meeting room with them eating their dry, tasteless cakes.
Why am I the one who gets to clean up other peoples bad work and then get no fucking credit for it?
Job: Substitute Teacher
I am a very lenient sub. I let students use their cell phones, I always let them work together, I will play relevant YouTube videos, but today while subbing in one hour a female student coughed cancer patient and everyone laugh. She then asked what was wrong with me because I look like I’m dying. I am a cancer patient and I don’t understand what could have prompted this type of behavior from a student. The next hour I had a male student say that fucking me would be like fucking a skeleton. Are parents no longer raising their kids with empathy or just plain courtesy? These were high school juniors and seniors by the way.
Job: Non-profit worker
Every day my manager breezes in and greets her favourites with a hug and a loud rundown of her tedious evening or weekend. She’s seated me with my back to them all just to make me feel like part of the team. Well thank fuck I’m not one of you. You are a mean, nasty, useless bitch – you couldn’t care a less about me or any of my common sense ideas but you surround yourself with subordinate minions who like nothing better than to stroke your ego. If they bent you over and licked your arse openly in the office I would not be surprised. You work for a non-profit but you spend our members’ money like it’s going out of fashion – it’s called ‘networking’ apparently. Well it’s funny that you don’t ever seem to bring any money in yourself even though that’s your job. Hey, at least you get to put on a posh frock and flirt with a bunch of ugly old men a couple of times a month which seems to be your favourite pastime. You are meant to be someone we should all look up to because you’ve been around since the dinosaurs and have a few letters after your name – well frankly I think you talk shit and I couldn’t care a less about how ‘important’ you think you are. You make me sick.
